About the company

The Székesfehérvár Ballet Theatre was founded on 1 August 2018, based on the decision of the General Assembly of the City of Székesfehérvár. With its establishment, the important goal was achieved that Székesfehérvár, like other cities with county rights, would have its own independent dance theatre, a contemporary ballet company operating as a cultural institution of the city. The institution is maintained by the City of Székesfehérvár, and for the director, Attila Egerházi, the establishment and operation of the company is a pioneering task and at the same time a noble mission, the primary aim of which is to promote contemporary ballet dance culture in Székesfehérvár and Fejér County.

The all times repertoire of the Székesfehérvár Ballet Theatre consists of contemporary ballets with distinctly different stylistic features. The diverse repertoire is basically divided into two large groups: one group of ballets in the act- to use a literary analogy dance novellas, or dance novels - and the other group are one-act ballets without plot - dance poems, to use a literary analogy. It is pay particular attention to reach the youth, the young generation and the audience of today and the future.
